Analyze It!

This model gives a physical visual of program and circulation.  In the model circulation is separated into vertical and horizontal.  Vertical circulation are stairs and elevators, represented by grey foam.  Horizontal circulation are hallways and doorways, the white foam represents only the main horizontal spaces in the model.  After doing a 3-D assessment of the space I was able to see that the main circulation route is predominately in the central space of each floor.  These main routes are also large enough to become social spaces.  The hallways then branch off into smaller sectors that lead to spaces for function.
The program aspect of the building is separated by individual, group and maintenance.  In design group interaction is influenced, this building focus' on by putting the group/communal spaces on the main floor and 2nd level giving it a hierarchy to the studio spaces on the 3rd level.
